The smartphone has overtaken the personal computer as the dominant device for downloading digital content, according to    a recent report from Limelight Networks . The report    was based on data from a survey conducted in February 2016 of consumers in the Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Mobile phones were ranked by respondents as the device type they most often use to download digital content. Personal computers were second, followed by tablets. Note that the lower the device score in the following chart, the more often the device is used to download content. Consumers say the digital content types they download most frequently are movies, music, and mobile apps. Some 52% of consumers say they will only download movies/TV shows if they are free, and 64% say they will only download new mobile apps if they're free. The software company announced that Telefónica Germany is deploying an updated version of its revenue management product that will simplify and accelerate the rating and billing processes for the operator's B2B operations. In a statement, Netcracker explained that the deal builds on a longstanding relationship with Telefónica Germany and that the renewal of its core services contract will enable the operator to continually optimise the performance of the revenue management set-up. Netcracker product information explains that its revenue management product is based on a single, converged, platform and can assist operators in accessing new revenue streams by monetising LTE, VoLTE, cloud-based and virtualisation services. The upgraded product runs across Telefónica Germany's hardware and databases, which Netcracker stated enables the operator to significantly improve the delivery of its B2B services and, in turn, improve the customer experience. ...
